Target...

So you guys know that I am working at Target until I get a "real" job. I work on what they call the flow team. We stock the stuff. I like it since it is completely mindless. It pays crap but I don't mind. I work with all of these college kids who ask "are you going to school too" and I reply "no". No one there knows that I have my bachelors and on top of that a masters. They must think I am quite the loser because I am an overweight 27 yr old who works 15-20 hrs a week at target not making much over minimum wage and on top of that, being satisfied that this is what my life consists of right now. I am satisfied but only because secretly I am applying for "real" jobs that pay in a week what I am working my butt off to do in a month. I haven't made many friends there but I suppose not knowing the "real" me...I wouldn't want to be my friend either! I love go getters! People who offer something to the world! There is one guy. He is Latin. He barely speaks english. The first day he asks me my age. He tells me he thinks I am 23. I respond that I am 27. I ask him (purely trying to be nice) and he tells me 18. I say "wow, you are still a baby!". The next day He comes to me and says "I lied to you before, I am really 24". John thinks he has a crush on me. I am tired of trying to be "nice" so when he asks what I did over the weekend I smoothly continue this "loser: I truly have nothing going for me" facade and respond, "nothing much". Still he continues to foster conversation shift after shift. I just want to say, "get yourself some self respect and go find a girl that is in school, or employed FT or who does interesting stuff on the weekends!" but I don't. Anyways, I feel like rambling today. Just wanted to give you a small picture into my day-to-day now. On a good note, I wear a pedometer to work and most days I get in 7 miles of walking. Who knew physical labor could be so glorious! On short days it's only five but it's nice to know I get paid crap to exercise. It's worth more to me. I hope all is well with you guys!
